Ink Tank collaborations
"Ink Tank is an Austin-based artist collective composed of roughly thirteen transient individuals. Together we make objects and conceptual environments, aiming to privilege the experience and not the relic. We don't live in the future, but try to sometimes."
-INK TANK
I was absorbed into Ink Tank after working with them as a guest artist, and then I guess just not going away. I had some part in several site-specific installations and happenings over a period of several years.
The first thing I did for Ink Tank was to airbrush a viking skeleton on the side of a post-apocalyptic battle van with a quarter-pipe bulldozer front. The van was crashed into a miniature burning cityscape, which in turn housed a mini-golf hole.
I also installed a 'Crashed DPRK Missile' public sculpture on the sidewalk on Cesar Chavez Street, which was tagged and stickered, and eventually stolen- so that may still be floating around somewhere. It had a pretty entertaining Reddit thread.
The last thing I did was to voice a guided meditation for an audio vending machine that ended up on Shipping Wars.
